About Us
Founded in 1991, Der Hundesport Performance Klub is a full member United
Schutzhund Club of America club located in the Southern California High Desert
community of Lancaster. Our club meets weekly for tracking, obedience and
protection training under the guidance of training director Uwe Doose. DHPK also
hosts a number of events each year including schutzhund trials and seminars.
Although a small club we proudly offer quality training and well organized, well
attended events including the 2000 Regional Conformation Championships, 2001
North American Championships and the 2003 and 2007 Southwest Regional Schutzhund
3 Championships.
Training
Individual attention is given to each handler and dog team based on their
ability, drive and training needs. As each team is unique, assessments are made
and different training methods may be utilized to achieve optimum results.
We strive
for members to achieve their desired goals and develop the dog and
handler team's maximum potential to compete at whatever level they desire.
We feel that
strengthening the partnership and bond between the dog and handler should be
considered the ultimate achievement. Training progress and plans are discussed
with each member after each training session.
Club Objectives:

To train dogs for the sport of
Schutzhund

To preserve the German Shepherd
Dog in accordance with the USCA Breed Standard as a working dog.

To promote humane training methods
for the working dog

To support responsible dog
ownership and breeding practices.

To support and promote
movements that demonstrate the advantages of Schutzhund training.

To support and organize trials for
Schutzhund.

Support the use of dogs by police
departments, search and rescue, and other service dog organizations.

To interest and educate the public
about the sport of Schutzhund.

To support members with other
breeds in accomplishing their goals and objectives.
